Chickens!

Meet the chooks!
We have sectioned off the garden so there is a large area for the dogs, a large run for the chickens and a safe section for our veggies.
Well that was the plan, so far one of the Chickens has escaped numerous times and thoroughly enjoys rearranging the vegetable plots.
You can see her sussing out the plan of escape each time you put her back.
I've nicknamed her Houdini.
They are fun to watch, and I've realised they are great at breaking down weeds and things, so all the weeds I pull up from the garden I throw over to them, they love raking through the clods of mud for grubs and bugs, so for now all garden rubbish gets processed by the girls first before being shovelled up and put in the compost bins.

My partner built our chicken coop and the large enclosed run. We originally planned to have just a few chickens, but will probably get some more soon.
I didn't create these plans, but there are a large selection to chose from enabling you to build a coop that suites you budget, amount of Chickens to house and how much room you have to keep it.
Building your own coop and having a constant supply of freshly laid eggs not only saves you money, but you get to keep some pets full of character with the added bonus of fresh eggs, so much healthier!
